On average, BIAs make between $70-90,000 annually.

Database Developer

As the job title suggests, a database developer is focused on improving databases, creating new applications for databases or modifying legacy applications to work with a database setup. There’s a lot of innovation right now in the design of database systems to be able to handle raw and unorganized data, so this position is perfect for those who are motivated by challenges. The average annual salary for a database developer is about $90K according to Glassdoor.

Database Administrator

Typically with a degree in computer science or info tech, this professional sets up databases and then maintains and secures them. This position also continues to be in high demand and with a median salary of $80,000 annually, it’s a good career move for many.

Data Engineer

Data engineers make the work of many other tech professionals possible because they design and build programs that create large data sets. It’s those data sets that data scientists analyze and BIAs build business use cases from. On average, they make about $80K annually.

Data Analytics Manager

Increasingly, companies are learning to rely on data analytics managers to make sense of the data and communicate to the rest of the team how businesses should respond to the insights the data provides. The person in this role must have a solid skillset that includes an analytics and business background as well as managerial skills. Data analytics managers should expect to make six figures annually.

They define network security requirements, ensure all security measures are updated and are responsible for implementing security strategies. The average annual salary is $79k.
